WHAT IS BMI?

WHAT YOUR BMI MEANS?
After calculating your BMI, you can know your healthy weight range. Here are some BMI ranges;
- A BMI under 18.5 would reflect the fact that are underweight and may be malnourish.
- A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 would indicate that you are within a healthy range which can be found in young and middle- aged adults.
- A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is overweight.
- A BMI of 30 or greater is considered obsessed.
HERE SOME EXCEPTIONS TO THE BMI RULE
As with every rule, there are some exceptions to this rule. So before you panic, check if you fall under these categories:
- Physical disabilities: People with physical disabilities who are unable to walk may have some muscle wasting. This means that their BMI may be slightly underestimated.
- Body builders: These types of people have lots of muscles and may have an overestimated BMI.
RISKS OF A HIGH BMI AND LOW BMI
If you have a high BMI, it is important to always exercise regularly so that you do not develop some health problems like;
- Type 2 diabetes
- Gall bladder disease
- Hearth and circulation disease
- Depression or other mental health disorders
- Some types of cancer , such as breast and colon cancer

- A compromised immune system

- Respiratory disease
